

The City of Chino re-opened the Old Schoolhouse Museum on May 14, 2016, and dedicated the building to Phyllis Outhier in honor of her dedication to the Chino community and service to the Chino Valley Historical Society. Its first President was Councillor Fred Caterson and its first Secretary was Bob Martin. Al-illah is now a prosperous river port and grain market. The Hills District Historical Society was formed in July, 1967.

In 2013, the Chino Valley Historical Society presented the building to the City of Chino in order to further preserve Chino's history.
